Residential care

We provide accommodation, meals and 24-hour personal care for those who find it increasingly difficult to cope at home without assistance. Our care home has a range of facilities designed to give you security, independence and the very best in residential care.

Nursing care

All residential nursing care is based on an individual assessment of needs. This results in an Individualised Service Plan of care (ISP), which is constantly monitored and – where necessary – adapted to meet the changing needs of each individual. The highly trained staff are responsive to the individual’s preferences and values to ensure each person is treated with the greatest of care and respect.

Dementia care

At Florence House we are dedicated, specialised dementia care area that is devoted entirely to residents who are living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Our team is trained to value each individual and to recognise their different preferences and needs. The Nightingale Wing specialises in care for dementia and mental health problems for older adults. All staff receive training in caring for dementia associated behaviour. We are supported by an external team of dementia care specialists who also provide independent dementia specific training.

Short stay and respite care

Short care breaks, also known as respite, allow carers the time to recharge their batteries while offering their loved ones the reassurance of 24-hour care. We provide round the clock care in a safe, comfortable environment, whether it’s just for two or up to six weeks.

Sometimes, you just need some time to relax and take it easy. Maybe you’re getting over an illness or an operation. Or perhaps your home carers simply need a break while they recharge their batteries.

Palliative care

The Victoria Wing specialises in nursing and palliative care. The highly trained staff are responsive to the individual’s preferences and values to ensure each person is treated with the greatest of care and respect.

Challenging behaviour facilities

We provide specialist care to stimulate and engage adult residents with reduced ability to understand and cope independently. We aim to give them a safe, comfortable and near independent life by providing nursing care when they need it.

Bariatric nursing

The Nightingale Wing also comprises an area for younger adults with physical or mental disability and four dedicated specialist bariatric nursing beds.
